  • 26th - Sanderstead (Briton Hill Road): Male Blackcap in garden again. Song and Mistle Thrushes singing briefly at dusk. (JB)
  • 26th - South Norwood (Pittville Gdns) (12.15pm): male Blackcap visiting feeder in back gdn every 20mins or so for up to a minute at a time (probably first noticed on 23rd) (GH)

  • 17th - Sanderstead (Briton Hill Road): Busy day in the garden with Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming, 14+ Redwing, 12+ Goldfinch, 3 Starlings, Goldcrest singing, 2 Nuthatch. Make that 50+ Goldfinch (a record count for the garden). Red Kite at 11:55. 27 species during the day. (JB)

  • 15th - Sanderstead (Briton Hill Road): Sparrowhawk flushed 10+ Goldfinches plus several Woodpigeons and Feral Pigeons as it flashed through the gardens at 08:45. Goldcrest singing its cotton socks off later on. (JB)

  • 14th - South Norwood Country Park: 4 Mute Swan, Greylag Goose, 2 Egyptian Goose, 5 Teal, 17 Shoveler, 3 Water Rail, 2 Snipe, Common Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Kestrel, Coal Tit, Cetti's Warbler, 5 Redwing, Bullfinch, 3 Siskin. Devilsden Wood: At least 3 Goldcrest, 2 Treecreeper, 1 Stock Dove calling, 1 Coal Tit, 2 Firecrest, 2 Brambling flashing through the trees. (DH)

  • 12th - South Norwood (Pittville Gdns) (11am): straggling group of 15 adult Herring Gulls flying low N>S over Gdns (GH)
  • 11th - Ridlesdown City of London: 10.30 am mixed flock of Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Nuthatch, Goldcrest and Treecreeper. Kestrel, lots of redwing everywhere, 2 Mistle Thrush, 1 Song Thrush and 1 Fieldfare (alarming and feeding on yew berries) (NH)
  • 9th - Norwood Grove: Woodcock flushed by dog (Peter Newmark on London Bird Club WIKI)
  • 9th - South Norwood Lake: 6 Mute Swan (back again after about 2 weeks away), 7 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Cormorant (1 a juvenile), 2 Herring Gull, 22 tufted Duck. Egyptian Goslings now feathered and a lot of wing flapping at 11 weeks a old. (Alan Simpkins)
